Design and performance evaluation of a continuous mainline rail turnout

A prototype continuous mainline rail turnout for low speed and low volume diverging traffic has been developed with the team of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) and Progress Rail Services. The prototype was evaluated under 35.4 tonne (39-ton) axle load traffic at the Facility for Accelerated Service Testing (FAST).
