Computation of contact conditions between wheel and rail, given data in the form of measured (Y, Z) coordinates (IM-DA-114)

The problem of finding contact conditions between wheel and rail is one which has troubled railway engineers increasingly in the past few years. Drawing methods were devised, and theories advanced by different people, but only very limited amounts of work could be done until the advent of the digital computer.
