A re-appraisal of A.P.T. braking specifications (IM-PS-069A)

Last updated on 06 December 2013 11:20
This memorandum examines the level of B rate braking and shows it to be insufficient at 15%g to allowing stopping within two blocks on all gradients. The brake duty must increase; however the increase is only slight if the benefits of train resistances can be included in the braking specifications.
