Derailment at Sandy : 23 July 1969 static loading test on rail fastening assemblies (TN-TAS-061)

This derailment was considered to be due to a thermal buckle of CW. track. No obvious deficiencies vers apparent at the time and none has come to light subsequently, thus the cause of the distortion remains unexplained. Research Dept. Report T & S 57, dated June 1970 described work...
