Asymmetric suspension scheme - preliminary parameters for relaxation beam/steering beam joint 'R' (IM-SUS-007)

The relaxation beam of a wheelset suspension is connected to a steering beam by joint R, as shown in figure 1. In order that operating functions are satisfied, the joint must fulfil certain preliminary parameters. Those parameters together with assumptions made to determine them are given in this report.
