For trains with a maximum speed of 150 m.p.h., the probable range of mean speed based on time-tables will be 102 ± 6 m.p.h. It seems unlikely that the mean speed in isolated oases will exceed about 115 m.p.h. This mean speed based on time-tables should not be confused...
