1. The manufacturers, Exors of James Mills Ltd. supplied to the Research Department a number of their No. 4 spikes 7¼" long in order that preliminary tests could be made as required by the Permanent Way Sub-Committee Minute No. 817, Appendix D (26th February, 1957).
