Depth of ballast measurement of stresses in the formation under the down goods line at Kegworth, L. M. Region (E-214)

Report E.200 dated July 1958 described the pilot investigation into formation stresses at Kegworth. Report E.208 dated November 1958 described the investigation into dynamic stresses in the formation under the Down Goods line. All the results presented in these reports were obtained with the normal sleeper spacing of 2"-7".
