EUROBALT: Dynamic effects due to local loss of rail head (RR-STR-95-084)

Last updated on 20 December 2013 11:50
The dynamic enhancements in rail force and rail foot stress due to trains passing over irregularities in the rail head have been measured in a wet tunnel where dripping water causes local head corrosion. The measured stresses and forces have been compared with those predicted using two dynamic models, i.e.
