Implementation of true constraints in vehicle dynamics simulation software (RR-DYN-95-065)

Constraints in the non-linear analysis programs, of the Vehicle Dynamics Simulation package VAMPIRE, are modelled by stiff springs and dampers whose values are automatically chosen by the program. The use of springs in place of rigid constraints can pose problems where the mass constrained is small, for example an axlebox.
