Fatigue strength of potential fishplate steels (RR-STR-95-028)

Last updated on 20 December 2013 12:29
Fatigue tests have been carried out on two high-strength (V155 and Grade 39) steels with ground and shot-peened surface finish, and the fatigue limits established. These data have been compared with predicted stresses in encapsulated type fishplates seen during the British Rail Research type approval tests for insulated block joints.
