Design specification for CAPT transponder monitoring equipment (TM-AUTO-19)

The purpose of the monitoring equipment is to detect transponder failures and to check that low level threshold transponders are functioning. As the transponders are very reliable, the recording system must ensure that all operating transponders are recorded or the system will cause unnecessary site visits by maintenance staff.
