Trestrol vehicle (Lab 24) pantograph anti-tilt mechanism tests on Upper Broughton and Folly Hall curves at the Old Dalby test track during February and March 1977 (TM-DOS-52)
Last updated on 31 March 2014 1:08
The pantograph anti-tilt mechanism fitted to Trestrol was dynamically tested up to a speed of 168 km/h at Old Dalby. Vertically, the pantograph frame largest r.m.s, and peak accelerations were 0.04 'g' and 0.15 'g' respectively, and were generally 60% higher than the body accelerations throughout the speed range.
