Failure of two stainless steel catenary droppers (TM-FM-55)

The two droppers were from the overhead electrification equipment on the West Coast Main Line, and had both failed after about 16 months in service. They were made from 4 mm dia stainless steel wire, clipped at each end. One was the dropper (subsequently referred to as the hanger dropper)...
