Evaluation of a muffle device for the controlled cooling of thermit welds (TM-MET-32)

Welding of UIC 860-0 Wear Resistant rail, grade B, has only recently been introduced in BR tracks. Following the concern expressed in German literature and the advice of BSC, a muffle device for the controlled cooling of thermit welds in this rail steel was requested from Thermit Welding (GB) Limited.
