Preliminary welding tests with U.I.C. wear resistant rail Grade A (TM-MET-35)

Following the decision in 1973 to install U.I.C. 860-0 Wear Resistant rail, grade A in LM Region track, trial flash and thermit welds were made to demonstrate the weldability of the rail. This report presents the results of these tests.
