Evaluation of flash-welds made in wear resistant rail Grade 'B' with different flashing distances and forward times (TM-MET-36)

Recent work has been concerned with the development of suitable welding conditions for flash welding UIC Wear Resistant Rail Grade 'B'. Whilst a reasonable standard of weld quality has been achieved using these conditions, the understanding of the effect of each welding parameter on weld quality is still somewhat limited.
