Examination of Class 50 crankshaft failures occurring in 1978 and 1979 (TM-MET-62)

During the last 2 years Three Class 50 crankshafts have fractured in service and each in turn has been examined by the R & DD at the request of the CM 4 EE, BRB. This report details the results of these examinations.
