A poor curving bogie will generate high, longitudinal creep forces, in a curve which gives the vehicle a high rolling resistance in a curve and increases wheel and rail wear. Many aggregate trains from the South-West are very heavily laden ( 4000 tons ) and require two type 5 locomotives...
