The effect of the outer skin material on the heat insulation properties of the coach wall. (IM-APT-156)
Last updated on 24 July 2014 4:13
In reports R/APT/84 and. R/APT/116, the outer skin was assumed to be 16 swg sheet steel. The effect of using an aluminium monocoque structure on the heat insulation properties is evaluated here, since the heat transfer co-efficient of aluminium is approximately 4½ times that of steel.
