The replacement of 1,1,1-Trichloroethane in non destructive testing products on British rail (LR-DON-46)

Products used in crack detection contain 1,1,1 Trichloroethane, which will be phased out under the Montreal Protocol (relating to ozone damaging products). Effective alternatives are available but are highly flammable and great care will be needed in their use.
