The Turton Platts clip is shown to be almost as stiff, and at least as highly stressed, as present B. R. designs of bolted S. T. baseplate fastenings. Accordingly, its use is not recommended. The Toledo-Woodhead clip is a "self-tensioning" design (requiring a special baseplate) and its nominal characteristics...
