Measuring track irregularity using an inertial mid-chord offset method with two-axis displacement sensor

By an inertial measuring method track irregularities can be obtained through double numerical integration of the acceleration measured at an axle-box or others over time. This method requires high-pass filtering process of measurements to stabilize the integration output. However, it is known that the filtering process distorts the integrated displacements.
