Design and construction of the UK’s first polystyrene embankment for railway use

There are thousands of bridges across the UK’s railway infrastructure, the majority of which were constructed in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. Because of their age and deteriorating condition, many of these old structures are now, or potentially will become in the future, a maintenance liability to Railtrack.
