Impact of introducing foldable containers into rail freight services

Today, many major domestic railroad freight stations often experience either shortage or over-supply of containers because of imbalances in the rail freight transport volume. To deal with this problem, over-supplied empty containers are moved to the locations where containers are needed, yet this is an inefficient solution to the problem.
