Infrastructure condition monitoring using in-service trains

Track infrastructure maintenance typically follows a reactive approach, i.e. responding to faults as they occur, and taking corrective action only after an event. Moving to a more proactive approach - using condition monitoring to inform and prioritize routine maintenance - is often restricted by the lack of up-to-date condition information.
