Field investigation and preliminary test study on galloping of catenary system for high-speed railway

Galloping is the aerodynamic instability of cable structures which can lead to large amplitude, low frequency oscillation. Galloping of the catenary system for railway has occurred frequently in China in recent years and caused a lot of damage to the catenary structures which severely threaten the safe operation of railway.
