Tackling Trespass Risk

Welcome to RSSB's new Tackling Trespass guidance pages. RSSB has developed a process and supplied information to help you tackle trespass on the rail network.

This is aimed at anyone tasked with reducing and managing rail trespass anyway on the UK network. It may also be relevant to those in strategic roles as well as risk analysts who support rail risk assessments.

The advice provided excludes suicidal or pre-suicidal behaviour. It does include trespassers exhibiting more general mental health issues that can lead to disinhibited and risk-taking behaviours.

This guidance does not set a prescriptive path for tackling trespass because each organisation and its operational risks are unique.

The following process and guidance are based on latest research and stakeholder engagement.
