This Code of Practice contains requirements and guidance for OTM drivers route conducting (RC) or being conducted and to assist in the improvement of driver safety performance and to assist in the mitigation of operational risk.

This Code of Practice establishes clear guidelines for safe and authorised access to driving cabs across all mainline infrastructure. It applies to Train Drivers, Trainee Drivers, Drivers Under Instruction, External / Route Conductors and other Authorised Personnel whose duties necessitate cab access.

The purpose of this COP is to promote safety, professional conduct, and clear accountability when operating or travelling in driving cabs.
