RIS-7700-INS Iss 4

This document provides requirements and guidance for the design of infrastructure at stations for the Great Britain (GB) mainline.

The document has been comprehensively updated to introduce new requirements, guidance and rationale relating to automatic ticket gates, fire precautions, environmental sustainability, accessibility, station security and the management of unauthorised access. The structure of the document has also been improved, and references have been updated throughout to align with current legislation, industry practice and related railway standards. Some of the requirements and guidance on platforms have been removed and added to RIS-7016-INS Interface between Station Platforms, Track, Trains and Buffer Stops, where applicable. In addition, RIS-7701-INS Rail Industry Standard for Automatic Ticket Gates at Stations has been withdrawn, with all associated requirements, rationale and guidance incorporated into RIS-7700-INS Issue 4.
