RSSB launches enhanced supplier assurance scheme
RISQS helps suppliers sell in to the GB rail industry by providing an open, fair and transparent way for them to be formally recognised as capable providers of products and services. It supports Network Rail, Transport for London, passenger and freight operating companies, rolling stock organisations, main infrastructure contractors and many other buying organisations in the management of supply chain risk.
RISQS is critical to the safe andcost-effective procurement of railway products and services, providing assurance for 110-plus buyers including Network Rail and TfL to do business with confidence with over 4,300 suppliers.
The transition means that from today GB rail’s supplier assurance will be run by the industry, for the industry, under the stewardship of RSSB.
Graeme Cox, RSSB Head of Supplier Assurance, said: We strongly believe that the improvements meet the long-standing demands of our industry for a modern, effective and efficient supplier assurance system, and crucially one that can – and will – keep changing to meet industry demands.
“RISQS ‘oils the wheels’ of the GB rail market, saving the 110-plus buyers from auditing individually each of the 4,300-plus suppliers, creating substantial economies of scale and ensuring consistency. Today we have enhanced it significantly for both buyers and suppliers.
The new RISQS software platform is configurable to quickly adapt to changing requirements, has the potential to integrate with buyer systems, and includes time-saving features like pre-population of templates to reduce duplication, as well as free value-adding tools like notice of EU tenders for suppliers. The improved audit process is delivered by high-quality auditors using the latest software to provide a consistent experience and features better management of audit booking through new scheduling software.
I am delighted that the vast majority of the GB rail market has reacted positively and are on board,” added Cox. “If you are one of the few suppliers who have not logged in you might not be visible to buyers, so I would urge you to do so now to retain your access to the rail market.
If you are an existing RISQS supplier who still needs to log in to the new platform please go to https://portal.risqs.org/Login; if you want to become a RISQS member please go to https://shop.risqs.org/Register.
If you are attending Infrarail at London’s Excel Centre this week, come and see the enhancements, celebrate the launch and meet the RISQS team at stand G11.
