Who We Are
Introduction
The Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) was established in 2003. This was based on key recommendations from Lord Cullen's public inquiry into the Ladbroke Grove rail accident.
Since 2003, we have been helping our members keep Britain moving with safer, smarter rail. Our core purpose is to support industry, so that we can achieve better results together. We offer services and resources that capture and share standards and best practice, with rail organisations and other industries in Britain and abroad.
RSSB is a not-for-profit company owned by major industry stakeholders. The company is limited by guarantee and is governed by its members and a Board. Its method of operation is presented in RSSB’s Constitution Agreement and the Memorandum of Association are incorporated in the Articles of Association.
