Britain’s railways in wartime
Featured story

RSSB is delighted to invite you to an interactive talk on “How the railways helped win the war”.

As part of RSSB’s ongoing fundraising efforts for the Railway Children, Greg Morse, Operational Feedback Specialist and John Abbott, Director of External Engagement will be giving a talk on the role of the railway during World War II.

RSSB members and stakeholders are welcome to come along to find out more about the remarkable story of how the railways helped win the war.  The story will pay tribute to the men and women of Britain’s wartime railway through pictures, film, music and words.  It will feature the evacuation, the miracle of Dunkirk, keeping the nation moving through the Blitz, supplying our forces, D Day, women on the railway and railway heroes.

The talk will take place at 1700hrs on Monday 9 November 2015 at the RSSB offices, and will mark both remembrance week and the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

Entry is free, but we would ask for a voluntary donation to be made to the Railway Children charity.
