We prioritise our work by balancing importance and complexity. This helps us maximise the value we generate for our members and the wider rail industry. Guided by our Board and driven by our members, our commitments include both medium-term and annual plans.
-
Factors we consider
We evaluate potential activities based on several key factors. The most important is how well the activity meets our members’ needs.
After that, we consider:
- potential reputational risk
- implications for rail safety
- our technical ability to undertake the work
- clarity of scope
- availability of funding.
-
Balancing individual member needs with wider industry needsAlthough our primary focus is meeting our members’ needs, we also consider the broader industry needs. We prioritise ‘joining-up’ where needs span gaps between individual members, ensuring a holistic approach.
-
Complex projects with multiple stakeholders
Our unique position and strength lie in our ability to navigate the complexities created by differing views and objectives from multiple stakeholders.
We operate effectively in this space, working across the entire industry to build consensus and deliver solutions.
