Who We Are
The Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) was established in 2003, based on key recommendations from Lord Cullen's public inquiry into the Ladbroke Grove accident. Our core purpose is to actively help the industry work together to drive improvements in the GB rail system.
RSSB is a not-for-profit company owned by major industry stakeholders. The company is limited by guarantee and is governed by its members and a Board. Its method of operation is presented in RSSB’s Constitution Agreement and the Memorandum of Association are incorporated in the Articles of Association.
Since 2003, we have been helping our members to make an evolving railway safer, more efficient and more sustainable.
