The Driving for Better Business Covid-19 Transport Toolkit
During this time of national emergency, we must not forget that road safety is still one of the most significant risks to railway workers. Road transport is one of the key services that keeps the railway operating safely and efficiently:
- taxis to move train crew
- cars, vans and lorries to move maintenance and construction workers
- replacement buses to move rail passengers.
In consultation with our strategic partner Highways England, the Driving for Better Business (DfBB) team has pulled together a range of information and guidance to help support companies to adapt the way they manage occupational road risk, to reduce the impact of Covid-19 on the transportation of goods and workers.
The DfBB transport toolkit covers a range of useful guidance that has been compiled under these headings:
- Essential Drivers
- Non-Essential Drivers
- Business Continuity
- Vehicle Maintenance
- Fleet Admin & Housekeeping
- Back to ‘Normal’
This information and guidance are based on good practice that has been shared by DfBB member companies. The toolkit will evolve and continually be reviewed and updated with new guidance and information, as we learn more about how to protect drivers and passengers from Covid-19.
