​​​​​​​​​​​​​RSSB hosts a number of rail industry events, both at its London offices in Moorgate and other venues across the country, to encourage debate and discussion around the products and services RSSB delivers to support the rail industry.

Fatigue Risk Management Forum - 26 February 2019

Save the date! We will launch the outputs of the cross-industry fatigue survey, and explore fatigue risk management initiatives. All delegates will attend the morning sessions; after lunch members of fatigue working groups and companies that have taken part in the fatigue survey will have the opportunity to discuss the implications of the data. RSSB and The University of Sheffield’s strategic partnership: Inaugural Lecture, University of Sheffield - 26 March

RSSB and The University of Sheffield are pleased to host a drinks reception and an inaugural lecture by Prof. Roger Lewis to launch a newly established RSSB / Royal Academy of Engineering Research Chair on tribology science at the wheel/rail interface. A drinks reception sponsored by RSSB will be hosted from 5pm, with the lecture starting at 5:30pm.

Using Data to Inform Better Low Adhesion Management - 27 March (Sheffield) and 3 April (Cardiff)

RSSB is pleased to host the Using Data to Inform Better Low Adhesion Management dissemination events on 27 March in Sheffield and 3 April in Cardiff. The events will be duplicated across the two days and will provide the opportunity to share and discuss the cross-industry research & innovation activities RSSB is undertaking as part of the ADHERE programme. Speakers will disseminate the findings of two projects undertaken on the Cross-City line, Birmingham, which investigated driver behaviour in different adhesion conditions (T1159) and changes in train braking performance due to railhead treatments (COF-DART) in the real-world operational environment.

Annual RISQS Conference - 28 March 2019

The Annual RISQS Conference is an exciting new forum for buyers and suppliers to discuss how both can use the contracting process more effectively. The event will feature presentations from major buyers outlining their view of the contracting landscape in CP6, explaining what makes a successful tender, and opportunities for suppliers to network with buyers. Held at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena on March 28, 2019, the conference will also incorporate the annual RISQS scheme report and an update on the enhancements we will continue to introduce to add value for members.

Enabling Better Network Performance through Data – 4 April 2019

We are pleased to host the Enabling Better Network Performance through Data conference on 4th April 2019 in London, which will provide an opportunity for attendees to gain knowledge about the cross-industry PERFORM research programme and its rich portfolio of work. We will also disseminate the findings of the ‘Data Sandbox’ suite of projects, which have been jointly led by academic data scientists and colleagues from train operators.

The day will be an engaging mix of debates, presentations and the opportunity to discuss the great value that data could bring to the industry.
