SPAD Risk Ranking Tool

A signal passed at danger – or SPAD – occurs when a train goes past a red signal without authority.

All Signals Passed at Danger (SPADs) are recorded within the Safety Management Information System (SMIS) and have historically been assigned a SPAD Risk Ranking based on the actual circumstances of the SPAD.
