A Defect Recording, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (DRACAS) is a way of finding out underlying issues in systems. It can help reduce faults and failures and improve safety as a result. DRACAS systems are used in other safety-critical industries like aviation and already used in some parts of rail.

The National CCS DRACAS is a management system equipped with formalised processes for collecting, sharing, and analysing CCS data. This capability is expected to help the whole industry and is estimated to deliver potential benefit of £231m over 10 years.
Collaborative industry effort
The National DRACAS Group leads the design, development, and implementation of the National CCS DRACAS. This initiative is driven by strong industry collaboration.
Through workshops with nearly 50 stakeholders, foundational documents and roadmaps have been developed. This collaboration will continue as the project progresses.
