Risk and Safety Intelligence Updates - Period 12 2021-22

In period 12 we investigated potential improvements to train horn effectiveness, worked on GB rail’s response to the risk from e-scooter battery fires, and helped our members share good practice in bowtie risk management. We also concluded our annual assessment of SMIS data quality, which provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of most SMIS user organisations and identify where improvement is needed. SMIS is a trusted data source that underpins GB rail’s evidence- and risk-based approach to safety management.
