NTS Awareness and Integration

The NTS awareness and integration course (formally entitled 'NTS Train the Trainer' course) is a 3 day course. The course has been developed for people who would like to build knowledge of non-technical skills by discussing the risks and challenges faced by your organisation and how they can be anticipated, identified and mitigated.

The aim of the course is to build knowledge of non-technical skills by discussing the risks and challenges faced in the operational railway and how these can be anticipated, identified and mitigated.

If you are a Manager, it will also help to you to support your staff by objectively measuring the non-technical skills that they demonstrate and offering advice for maintaining and enhancing these skills. This course will provide you with the information, tools and insight needed to do this in the most effective way.

The objectives of this course are to help you to:

  1. Feel confident to deliver your own NTS courses
  2. Provide you with access to the RSSB NTS training materials for your customisation

By helping you to:

  • Understand what NTS are
  • Explain why they are important and how they can be used
  • Describe all seven Non-Technical Skills categories and their 26 skills
  • Describe how NTS fit to the Action model and how this can be applied
  • Understand how to integrate NTS throughout your competence management system
  • Be able to measure and provide feedback on non-technical skills as part of a technical assessment

After attending the course, you will have:

  • Enhanced NTS knowledge
  • Capability to customise and train on the materials to fit your requirements
  • A full set of training, briefing, management and supporting materials
  • Access to the industry TTT Forum Post-course NTS integration support from RSSB’s NTS specialists
