Introduction to Rolling Stock Digital Systems Training
Course overview
Individuals involved in introducing new systems or upgrading legacy systems on rolling stock may have limited exposure to digital technologies such as software, telecommunications networks, and cybersecurity. The course is designed to help close gaps in knowledge.
It equips delegates with the knowledge they need to assess digital systems in the context of engineering changes aligned with RIS-2700-RST. It also enables them to identify when additional internal or external expertise is required for more complex or unfamiliar challenges.
-
Learning outcomes
- Develop an understanding of the open systems interconnection and rail-specific standards associated with it.
- Gain insight into how software operates and what standards the industry uses to develop software.
- Understand cybersecurity in the context of engineering change.
- Understand processes that can be followed at the start of a project to establish whether there is a cyber risk associated with a new product or service.
-
Who should attend?Rolling stock engineers, those working in IT fields who are unfamiliar with rolling stock digital systems, and those involved in the procurement of new rail vehicles or digital systems for rail vehicles.
