RSSB launches free sustainability training course for rail industry
The Sustainable Rail Blueprint was launched in 2023. It highlights the importance of building a culture for sustainability in the rail industry. This means making sure everyone has the knowledge, skills, and mindset to put sustainability at the heart of everything they do.
Learning and development has a key role to play in this. RSSB already offers bespoke training on sustainability issues and a certificated Carbon Literacy for Rail training course. Further courses are under development.
RSSB’s new e-learning course is an engaging 30-minute introduction to sustainable rail. It brings the Sustainable Rail Blueprint to life in a pop-up book themed journey. It raises awareness of key sustainability terms and concepts, including:
- Why sustainability is relevant to rail
- The industry’s sustainability goals and the Sustainable Rail Blueprint
- Key strategies for delivering an even more sustainable railway
- Our collective roles and responsibilities.
The e-learning module is freely available to RSSB member organisations. It is designed to be hosted on their learning portals.
Thom Rawson, Sustainable Development Principal at RSSB said:
“We want to help everyone working in the rail sector understand their role in improving environmental and social sustainability.
“Our new free e-learning module is a quick and easy solution to raise awareness about why sustainability matters, what the challenges are, and how we can fix them.”
