We’re firm believers in the value of collaboration. And we know that working with best-in-class suppliers leads to the highest quality outputs. If you’d like to supply RSSB, please have a look at our procurement process below.
We use many suppliers across a range of categories. These are appointed in line with:
- the Procurement Act 2023
- other relevant legislation and regulations
- our own policies and governance procedures.
Ensuring value for money and efficiency for RSSB is a key focus for our Procurement team. They also work to keep commercial and legal risk low.
Likewise, the RSSB Procurement team is committed to ensuring that potential suppliers have equal opportunities to compete for available opportunities.
What to expect when working with us
We want our suppliers to share our:
- approach to corporate responsibility
- commitment to equality, diversity, and sustainability.
We ensure that our suppliers understand and comply with all legislation relevant to their business and their interactions with us. This covers such matters as:
- sustainability and environmental protection
- minimum wage
- social value
- discrimination
- employment
- health and safety
- modern slavery in the supply chain
- equality, diversity, and inclusion.
We also expect our supplier base to have suitable policies in place in relation to the above. And they should actively monitor their performance against such policies.
Finally, we expect all our suppliers to manage their subcontractors responsibly. The same goes for their suppliers of products and services.
It’s always our hope that our suppliers communicate openly and honestly with us. This helps us develop our mutual commitment to corporate responsibility. It also helps us build strong supplier relationships.
It’s also vital that our suppliers and partners have confidence in our own procedures and ethics. Here are some of the best practices we adhere to.
The Procurement Act 2023
RSSB now adheres to the Procurement Act 2023, which went live on 24 February 2025. This introduced various advantages to streamline and enhance the overall procurement system. It will open up opportunities for new entrants, including small businesses and social enterprises, and enhance transparency. Additionally, it will seek to maximise value for money and ensure that contracting authorities benefit more effectively from every pound spent on procurement activities.
