FTAP Flexible Train Arrival Point
Synopsis
A set of four signs to direct engineering trains or on-track machine to locate the required stopping point within a possession or protection zone when this is not located at a signal.
Summary Of Changes
This document provides the specification of the FTAP sign and the countdown marker signs such that users can reproduce the signs. It also documents the information provided by the sign.
The countdown markers inform the driver about the approximate distance to the FTAP location, thus allowing them to plan a safe rate of deceleration towards the FTAP location, which is marked by the FTAP sign.
