Management of Change

Every policy, investment or operational decision impacts safety in some way. The safety implications of significant changes must be understood and well managed, as outlined in the framework and principles of Taking Safe Decisions. Those with responsibility for safety are required to consider and control the risk to passengers, the public and the workforce that might arise from changes being introduced. Technical, operational or organisational changes can alter the risk(s) these groups are exposed to.
