Risk and Safety Intelligence Updates - Period 6 2023-2024

In Period 6, we completed a deep-dive analysis on how rail strikes influenced the rate of incidents such as SPADs, dispatch irregularities, and signal failures. Our findings were presented to the Train Accident Risk Group. We also hosted the International Union of Railways Safety Performance Group at our office on 14 September. The SMIS Advisory Group met on 7 September, where plans for the future of SMIS were provided. The Precursor Indicator Model was presented to the RSSB Board on 7 September in Cardiff. Finally, we have set up a virtual community of bowtie users, comprising people from our member companies who conduct bowtie analysis or have plans to do so.
