This document defines the requirements for spoken safety communications between people employed by the IMs and RUs, specifically regarding the safe movement of trains.

RIS-8046-TOM reproduces GERT8046 in its entirety, unchanged in Annex A. This RIS provides a basis for co-operation between IMs and RUs for all spoken communication between the drivers and signallers and any person responsible for the safe movement of trains on the mainline railway.
