The work we do
The work we do is planned in advance in consultation with our members and is guided by our Board. We make both medium- and short-term (annual) plans that will benefit the industry as a whole and our members.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we have reprioritised our strategic plans for 2019 to 2024 and our annual plan for 2020-21 so that we can focus on meeting the needs of our members as they face the challenges of Covid-19.
RSSB membership provides access to a wide range of products and services. These are designed to help organisations in the rail industry become safer and more sustainable for passengers, the workforce and the wider public, while reducing risk and cost.
We have a positive track record in bringing industry together (track and train) to solve complex issues. We encourage and enable the collaboration that leads to improvement.
Our unique position also means we can give clear and honest advice based, on an objective assessment of the data, analysis, research and findings that we produce.
We help the whole railway work together to address issues of common concern, so that we all benefit from better safety, sustainability and service, and reduced cost and risk.
Together we form an industry support network. Together we focus on those issues which one company can’t solve on its own efficiently, either because it affects many other companies, or because there’s an opportunity to address it better together.
