How did you get into design?

“I think I was always destined to be a designer, as I have always interpreted the world around me in images and colour, rather than words and books. I find that a well thought out diagram is always a much better vehicle for catching attention than lines of text, and so it came very naturally to me. I studied in South Africa and then moved to the UK and have been working in design ever since. I have worked for large and small companies and brands—all completely different but using that same means of communication (visual) to get their message across. Design is an ever-changing discipline that keeps me constantly engaged and looking to the future with excitement. ”

What do you enjoy most about your current role?

“As a designer, developing and maintaining a company brand is exciting, as it allows one to mould how the outside world views us and gain feedback on how we are positioned within our sector. Design is the front line between a company and its customer and so needs to convey a message, as well as the values to which we hold ourselves. I love finding new ways to work within our style to create something different and eye-catching. ”
